LinkedIn Social Networking
Like most small businesses we live and die by our reputation. We believe that we do quality work and that our reputation will bring us more work.

A social network is a map of the relationships between individuals, indicating the ways in which they are connected through various social familiarities ranging from casual acquaintance to close familial bonds. (Wikipedia - Social Networking)

These concepts have been brought to the public conscience by terms like six degrees of separation and The Kevin Bacon Game.

Websites promoting the Circle of Friends online social networks started appearing in 2002 when the term was used to describe the means of networking in virtual communities and became popular in 2003 with the advent of websites such as Friendster, Tribe.net and
LinkedIn.

It is LinkedIn that we have decided as a company to use and if you are a member you can see the professional profile of our owner David Walker or find out who we know in common. To access these you will have to sign up for the service.
 Web Conferencing
Web Conferencing allows people remotely to share presentations and use remote desktop, etc. These are powerful tools for both presentations and support teams to see a remote desktop. There are two sites that we use that provide different pricing plans to suit your business needs
WebEx
WebEx provides Web conferencing on a pay per use basis. If you are an ad hoc user then the cost is offset by the ability to quickly get a conference going. From a technical standpoint it is slightly more difficult to run than the other site we use.
GoToMeeting
GoToMeeting from Cytrix is a subscription based web conferencing system that is cheaper that it's competitor for the frequent user but costs more if only used infrequently. Technically the Cytrix stuff works well and is slightly easier to use when compared to its competitor.

Just Giving Charity & Sponsorship
Just Giving is a website that allows you to automate and manage sponsorships, e.g. if you are doing a sponsored walk you can quickly set up a web page that tells people what you are being sponsored for, register their sponsorship, collect their money including payment by credit card and send the money to the charity. It is especially effective where the people who you want to sponsor you are remote and can just be mailed a link to the site.
